I forgot all about the fact that I designed some sketches for Urban Outfitters tween market. My partner and I came up with a concept to make dresses around the successful forecasted Nature theme for 2012. These dresses are targeted for ages 12-19. Every dress is targeted for our target market, but each each of the three dresses is made for a certain age group as well.
Tortoise toi dress
This dress was more targeted to girls ages 12-14. The dress is approved my mothers and fathers and even the girl. It has a bell hexagonal structure with a bell shaped silhouette. For the older target market, it can be worn as a dress to run errands or simply look cute around the house. The inspiration, the painted turtle of Canada (chrysemys picta).
Tulip my darling dress
The second dress is targeted directly to girls ages 15-17. The dress has more of the innocent sex appeal that girls at this age are looking for with the off the shoulder. The dress is still innocent to eye with the complementary pink and green pallet. The sihouette is fitting to the waist, yet slightly loose fiting to the hips. This dress can be worn by younger girls by pairing the dress with a cardigan and cute flats. As for the older target market, it can be worn with a variety of accessories such as chunky necklaces.
The inspiration behind the dress- tulips. What girl doesnt like flowers!
Fish Harvest dress
The final dress was to be the most elaborate dress of them all and targeted to girls ages 18-19. The dress is self-explanatory with is elaborate construction such as a monochromic variation of blues and pleating around the dress. the youngest target market can wear this dress for special occasions such as a dance or to a gathering, as this older target could wear it on a casual day with a denim jacket.
The inspiration behind this dress is the totem pole fish that it is seen throughout the Native American culture.
I hope you enjoy my work!
